Little Chit Chatting Between Mom and Daughter
The other night, I was talking with J.Bear about what she wanted to be when she grew up. She said "well the thing is I want to be a lot of things". She wants to be a teacher, artist ("because it is really fun to draw"), a world traveler and an actress on TV.
I asked about the places she wanted to visit on her world traveling. Here is a list of places and why she wants to go there:
Australia-"to see what it is like because it is a small place on the globe"
France- " to see the Eiffel Tower"
Italy-"to eat pasta"
New York-"to see the tall buildings and Statue of Liberty"
California -"Hollywood"
Hawaii-"I think it is just cool"
We came up with a plan. She would act on tv first. That way she could make money to travel. Then she would draw pictures (artist) on her trips around the world(world traveler). She could sell her pictures she draws, that way she would still be making money. After all that fun, she would come home and become a teacher.
Sounds like a great plan, but I asked when would she have time to visit me. She told me that she would always make time to come home. That's my girl.

Glorious Day
One afternoon, about two months ago, Torpedo told me that he wanted to get baptized. I asked him "do you know what that means?". He said " so i won't be bad anymore and my sins will be washed away". That is a start, I thought.
He then started meeting with Julie Davis the Children's Minister at our church. They met once a week for about 3 or 4 weeks to talk about baptism. He looked forward to going to met her, each and every time we took him.
Then the time came to decide, who and when to get him baptized. At first he wanted his daddy to do it, but then he decided that he wanted his daddy to be able to watch him.
I asked him about Julie baptizing him. His response was "no". When I asked why, he said it was because she was a girl. Typical 1st grader answer.
He decided that Drew Henderson would do it. Drew and his family are great friends to us. Drew is also Torpedo's best friends dad. We were happy with his choice.
Today was the day that Torpedo made a lifetime commitment to Christ. We are so proud of him. We are excited to see what God has in store for him.
Soaked boys! Don't you just love Torpedo's smile in this picture. He was smiling from ear to ear.
If you ask him today why he got baptized, his response is "so i could have Jesus in my heart." Rejoice in our awesome God!!!
*Thanks to Kim (Drew's wife and an awesome friend) for taking these pictures, so that we could enjoy the moment. Henderson's you are a blessing to our family. We love you!!!!
